Iconic Images...

How would you like to win a stamp set today? Papertrey Ink is having several challenges and giveaways going on today over at Nicole Heady's blog!

Today we are featuring a new stamp set called Iconic Images, which you can see here, I have stamped the bird and sentiment from Iconic Images right over the Damask Designs paper by Papertrey Ink. The designs in this set feature some images that - in my opinion - will never go out of style!

I used Hawaiian Shores ink and stamped right on the patterned paper. The resin and flowers are by Melissa Frances. The text paper you see here is actually the packaging from the Hometown Summer Punchouts by Pink Paislee. I thought the colors would work great!
This stamp set will also be available to everyone who places an order of $100 or more between 9 am EST July 23rd and 11:59 EST July 24th at www.papertreyink.com.

my gifts...

I'm back really quick with one more layout to share made with the new Deck the Halls line by Melissa Frances. I've used some of the new papers in the background, the new stickers, die cuts and tags, resin stars, crepe paper, pom pom trim and tinsel. My favorite paper is the collage paper that I used to create the big present at the bottom! I used one of my favorite tags as the smaller present and wrapped it up with a little seam binding.
I needed to add a little more heaviness to the top, so I put a little black scallop on the left side to balance out the black towards the bottom of the page.

Here you can see the fringed crepe paper that I wrapped in a circle to resemble a bow!
I'm loving the more saturated colors to this line! Don't forget to stop over to the Melissa Frances blog for a giveaway.

Melissa Frances peeks...

I know it's still summer here in the states, so it seems strange to be making holiday items, but I have a little sneak peek to show you of the new line by Melissa Frances called Deck The Halls! Here I've used the new calendar mini album, new die cuts, new journaling words and some of the papers from this new line, which is debuting at the Craft and Hobby Show right now and will be available for ordering soon.
I also added some fun Melissa Frances tinsel, and just wrapped it around in a circle, then topped it with some pom pom trim over the die cut star. Love the trim, reminds me of little snowballs. Perfect for a winter layout. The pom pom trim comes in a few different colors.

I've also used some of the Deck the Halls tags, pearls, crepe paper, resin stars and the green glitter letters, all by Melissa Frances as well.

Here I used the new line on a layout of my girls when they were little in their holiday dresses!
I punched a couple of smaller stars to match the larger die cut star, then stitched on them and added some white paint to tone the brightness down a bit, also stitched on some of the die cuts. I'm so glad Melissa is adding some red to her lines, it's my favorite color!

If you are headed to the Craft and Hobby Show this week, please stop by the Melissa Frances booth #1230. Also please visit the Melissa Frances blog for more peeks. Any questions about the products used, please ask! :)

Tranquility Trilogy...

I love that name! We're back to show you our newest stamp set featuring triangles! So many fun things you can do with them. My assignment was to use them as a pennant/banner on something other than a card. I decided to make a mini album cover for my daughter, Kati, who just had her 6th birthday! I thought...why spend SO much time working on each page for a mini album, just decorate the cover super cute and fill it up with all of the cute pictures from her birthday party! That's what I am going to do.
Here is the cover all decorated. I used chipboard for the cover and back and a Maya Road chipboard for the part the banner is hanging off of. Paper is by Crate Paper with the exception of the numbers paper - By the Numbers- and the pink plaid is Hometown Summer by Pink Paislee.  I used a new stamp for the Celebrate that is coming out on the 15th and the set is called Half & Half.

Birthday albums should be fun, right? So I wanted to add lots of color.
I like the pop of the teal seam binding. I added little bits of pink pom pom trim to the top of the banner, Prima flowers and a Melissa Frances resin swirl. When I get time, I will get all of the photos printed out and added inside. My printer is on the fritz right now!

Celebrate mini album:
STAMPS: Tranquility Trilogy, Half & Half
INK: Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy
PAPER: Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, By the Numbers by PTI
DIES: Tranquility Trilogy
OTHER: resin swirl by Melissa Frances, flowers by Prima,
twine by Twinery, circle punch, chipboard by Maya Road.

Thank you for visiting! Now hop on over to visit the other ladies to see what they've done with this set!

Half & Half...

Today I'm back with Papertrey Ink and another group blog post! We are highlighting the very cool new stamp set and dies called Half & Half, which are coming out on the 15th. What I love about these is that they are like tags that you cut yourself with your die cutting machine, they have all different pretty ends on them and stamps to go with the dies to decorate the tags! These are longer than a normal tag, so you could certainly use them on scrapbook pages for a cool look also.
Here I have cut three of them and did some layering with them, two in the background horizontally and one on top vertically, and just trimmed them at different lengths.
I added some trims to soften the tag and add dimension. The pretty pom pom trim is by Melissa Frances. I put it on my card upside down so the little pom poms would fall over like little wild flowers. The stamps I used on the white portion of the tag are new this time also, and are called Flower Fusion #6.

Grateful For You card:
Stamps: Half & Half, Flower Fusion #6
Ink: Smokey Shadow, True Black, Lavender Moon, Simply Chartruese
Paper: Gray and creme cardstock
Dies: Half & Half
Other: pom pom trim and resin by Melissa Frances, other trim by Prima, Papertrey Ink twine
-----------

This card has a tag cut with the Half & Half dies and stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink with the Half & Half stamp set. I cut a 4" star with my Cricut. Can't get enough stars lately!
I love the different swirls and ends to decorate the tags with. This stamp set also comes with sentiments, as you can see the Celebrate one here.

Celebrate card:
Stamps: Half & Half
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, True Black, Pure Poppy
Paper: Raspberry Fizz cardstock, white cardstock, yellow by October Afternoon, orange by Crate Paper
Dies: Half & Half
Other: flower by Maya Road, button is Holiday Mix by Papertrey Ink,
twine from the Twinery, Pure Poppy ribbon by Papertrey Ink.
-----------

Lastly, I thought I should try a boy-ish card, so I kept it simple and just embossed the tag with the Vineyard Impression Plate, then stamped the sentiment and bracket on the end.

Joy and Happiness card:
Stamps: Half & Half
Ink: True Black, Hawaiian Shores
Paper: Papertrey Ink cardstock, Pink Paislee - Hometown Summer (green)
Dies: 2" circle punch, star punch, Vineyard Impression Plate, Half & Half dies
Other: Holiday Mix button, twine, corner rounder.

Thank you for visiting! Hop on over to visit the other ladies to see what they've done with this set of stamps and dies!  I'll be back tomorrow with another group blog post.

happy Friday...

I hope you had a great week and have an even better weekend. I've been busy packing for my trip home, mowing, doing laundry and finishing up my CHA projects, so I haven't had time to create much else lately. But...I just ran across some cards today that I didn't post a long while ago.

Here I made one of my famous stitched heart banners. All of the things I love are on this card - embossing, stamping, sprayed seam binding, pins, crepe paper roses, and stitched hearts from old book paper! :)

I made these for the Paper Crafts Go To Gals challenge. Back in January, they asked me to try out for the Go To Gals magazine team! Imagine my shock! Well, after several weeks of trying out, needless to say, I didn't make the team. However, I am counting my blessings, being happy for what I do have, and staying positive! I feel very blessed that I was asked to try out.
On this card, I used a Melissa Frances pocket and turned it upside down. Lots of Melissa Frances products here, including the pocket, sticker, frame, and crepe paper. Flower is Prima and background paper is Pink Paislee - Daily Junque.
I wanted to share some other news with you as well today. I've recently decided to leave the Jenni Bowlin team and the Crate Paper team. Both of which I LOVED every minute of, but I just decided that things were getting to be too much for myself and my family. It's really hard to let something go that you love, but more important to give that time to the people you love the most. I hear that a lot in this industry. It's really easy to get wrapped up in things, and teams, and creating. But really, what is the most important thing in life? :) It will always be family.

Of course, I will still be creating and blogging, because I could never let that go all together. I still have Pink Paislee, Papertrey Ink and Melissa Frances. I am going to be doing a few retail kits here and there (more info on that soon) and I have some other things brewing for the fall. :)

Thanks for reading today! I have some blog posts set and ready to go the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned for Papertrey Ink projects on the 12th, 13th and 15th.

happy go lucky...

Feeling happy-go-lucky this week, getting ready to go visit my family. I did get the A-OK to share my Mistables projects with you by Pink Paislee! This line developed to accept misting sprays and paint mediums perfectly. They are great for scrapbooking, card making, general crafting, home decor and more, and when combined with your favorite colors, you'll be inspired to create quick, stylish designs that are uniquely YOU!

On this layout, I went with my favorite color palette lately. I wanted to create a rainbow effect with the inks to highlight her happy personality.
I blended the inks with my Time Holtz blending tool (see the post below for a list of inks I used). The happy and lucky and were cut with my Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words dies. The GO are new chipboard letters by Pink Paislee that you can mist also. I used a soft blue on them. Wishing you sunshine is from the Blooming Button Bits stamp set by Papertrey Ink. I just bought this set and can't stop using it!

I popped up some stars cut out of my scraps. These papers are so gorgeous!!
Now if you are more of a shabby-type crafter, you can use this line to make a shabby frame like this (frame is from the Mistables line by Pink Paislee) using softer colors.
I sprayed the papers in the background and the flowers too! The flowers come just like that in plain muslin, ready to be sprayed. I decided to add a hanging wire to the frame with photos and a tag.

The tags are gorgeous that come with this line too. Here I used creme paint and rubbed off the embossed areas very quickly before it dried.
Please tell your retailers you want this gorgeous line - it's available for pre-order right now at Pink Paislee!
